Ramen Egg Illustration

Ingredients

  • 6 eggs
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup sake
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 garlic clove crushed or ground
  • 2 star anise

Cooking Instructions

  1. Boil pot of water, add eggs, and let boil for 6.5 minutes exactly
  2. Let cool immediately in cold, ice water to stop eggs from cooking
  3. Peel eggs
  4. Mix marinade, add eggs, and marinate for at least 12 hours, up to 2 days
